The HSE Coordinator is responsible for implementing policies on employee health and safety and environmental compliance and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environment standards and laws. Role and Responsibilities • Coordinate the development of occupational health and safety policies and procedures • Evaluate the workforce OHS training needs and develop a training plan • Develop an emergency protocol and ensure its dissemination • Ensure compliance with OSH standards and laws • Establish a company culture focused on prevention • Act as a spokesperson to educate employees and managers about the good practices in occupational health and safety • Guide and advise the company in the purchase of personal protective equipment • Train and lead the OHS Committee when it is set up • Ensure a presence at the plant for inspections and observations, floor rounds, and evaluate the application of safety rules by employees • Communicate with supervisors in the event of non-compliance with OSH policies by workers in order to provide disciplinary action • Assess and identify hazards and hazardous conditions at the plant, and implement corrective measures • Establish risk assessments for individual positions and provide suggestions for good practice • Conduct incident and accident investigations and ensure timely application of recommendations. Maintain accident record and documentation • Prepare statistics on workplace accidents and other performance indicators to share with management • Establish relationships and collaborate with key partners, such as production machine suppliers, specialized training service providers, and government agencies, to become a front-line player in the healthy management of health and safety at work Education College Diploma or University Certificate in Health, Safety and Environment Qualification required • Minimum 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN NON-SYNDICATED MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT • Experience in the chemical processing industry • Functional English (intermediate level) • Good knowledge of the MS Office suite (including MS Excel) • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
