The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer supports the Sr. Mechanical Engineer and the engineering team for the successful implementation of the new plant by providing technical expertise in the mechanical engineering field. Role and Responsibilities • Make technical recommendations during the front end engineering design (FEED) phase • Monitor the work of the sub-contractors to ensure the compliance of drawings and plans related to the construction of the new factory • Participate in the analysis and evaluation of solutions with respect to technical issues • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting regarding the progress of the project • Oversee the mechanical aspects of the commissioning and play a key role in starting the process and auxiliary systems of the new plant • Support the plant maintenance team and plant engineer in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the equipment • Participate in maintaining a safe environment at all times by reinforcing the health and safety rules • Develop asset integrity programs and written schemes for critical mechanical equipment at the plant • Work in collaboration with the plant engineering team to minimize disruption and maximize output throughout, including careful shutdown management

Skills & Requirements:

Education • Degree in mechanical engineering • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec • Must possess the ASP construction certification for working on construction sites in Quebec Skills and Qualifications • Mechanical Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in project management • Experience in the implementation of a new plant in a start-up environment • Solid understanding in project management and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields/production • Bilingual (French – English)
